Diagnostic Tools
Naturopathic Doctors are trained to perform thorough physical exams in order to acquire important information about your presenting health concern or to simply screen for yearly checkups. Blood tests and other specialized testing is often required in order to obtain accurate assessment and diagnosis. These results allow us to understand what could be the cause of your health concern and help us put together a treatment program that is tailored to your health needs. Laboratory markers also allow us to follow your progress throughout treatment.
The following are some common laboratory tests offered:
- IgG and IgE food allergy test
- Saliva hormone panels
- Hair mineral analysis
- Complete blood count (CBC)
- Lipid panel
- Thyroid profile
- Liver enzymes
- Chemistry profile
- Hormone testing
- Neurotransmitter testing
- Parasite testing
- Urine analysis
Please note that these tests are not covered under OHIP but may be covered under some Extended Insurance Health Plans. In order to access these services at Central Health Care you must be seen by a Licensed Naturopathic Doctor.
